We’re pleased to announce a new integration between Smart PPR and AirfieldFinder, helping pilots discover participating airfields more easily while giving airfield operators who use Smart PPR greater visibility across the UK GA community. This is our first integration with a third party website using our API which was launched at the end of Summer 2025.
Making PPR Simpler for Pilots
Smart PPR was built to modernise and simplify Prior Permission Required (PPR) requests for UK airfields. By providing a fast, digital workflow for pilots and operators, we help reduce administration, improve traceability, and make the arrival process more efficient for everyone involved.
Through this new integration, subscribed Smart PPR airfields can now have direct PPR access links displayed within AirfieldFinder listings. This allows pilots browsing airfield information on AirfieldFinder to move directly into the Smart PPR request process with minimal friction.
The result is a smoother experience for visiting pilots and improved engagement for participating airfields.
Increasing Visibility for Participating Airfields
Airfield visibility is increasingly important in today’s digital aviation environment. Many pilots now discover destinations online before deciding where to fly, making accurate and accessible information essential.
By integrating Smart PPR links into AirfieldFinder, participating airfields benefit from:
- Increased exposure to active GA pilots
- Easier access to official PPR request systems
- Reduced reliance on phone-based PPR processes
- Improved discoverability of operational information
- A more professional and modern visitor experience
This partnership helps ensure that airfields using Smart PPR are easier to find, easier to contact, and easier to visit.
Supporting the UK General Aviation Community
Both Smart PPR and AirfieldFinder share a common goal: supporting UK General Aviation by improving accessibility, communication, and operational efficiency.
AirfieldFinder has become a valuable resource for pilots seeking reliable UK airfield information, while Smart PPR focuses on simplifying operational workflows for airfields and visitors alike. Bringing the two platforms together creates a more connected ecosystem for the GA community.
Looking Ahead
This integration is another step in Smart PPR’s ongoing commitment to helping airfields modernise their operations while making life easier for pilots.
We look forward to working closely with AirfieldFinder and continuing to develop tools that improve the experience for both airfield operators and aviators across the UK.
