Smart PPR last month announced the launch of its highly anticipated payment portal, now live on smartppr.co.uk. This latest development marks a significant expansion of the platform’s capabilities, providing a seamless, flexible way for pilots to pay landing fees and for airfields to manage payments more efficiently.
Already in use at a growing number of airfields, the new payment portal has been met with strong early feedback. Operators report that it has simplified administrative processes, reduced manual workload, and improved the overall payment experience for both staff and pilots.
The self-service portal allows pilots to settle landing fees quickly and conveniently using either Stripe, PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay. Payments can be made whether they are still seated in the aircraft after landing, on the ground at the airfield, or later from home. This flexibility removes friction from the payment process and helps ensure timely transactions without the need for direct, in-person handling.
For airfields, the system introduces powerful new tools, including the ability to issue payment reminder links directly to pilots. This feature helps improve payment collection rates while maintaining a professional and streamlined communication process.
“This launch represents a major step forward for Smart PPR,” said Simon Fewkes-Ahearne. “We’ve listened closely to the needs of airfields and pilots, and this payment portal delivers the convenience, automation, and reliability they’ve been asking for. It’s not just an upgrade, it’s a meaningful expansion of how Smart PPR supports modern airfield operations.”
With this release, Smart PPR continues to strengthen its position as a comprehensive solution for airfield management, combining operational efficiency with a user-friendly experience.
The payment portal is now available to all Smart PPR users via smartppr.co.uk and included within the monthly fee.
